Formed in New York City in 1988, UNSANE spearheaded and defined an aggressive, unrelenting noise-rock sound that spread throughout the world in their wake. A fixture of the art-damaged CBGBs scene, UNSANE welded a mixture of punk, hardcore, metal, post-industrial noise, and straight-ahead rock with a blowtorch of consistently perfect singles and albums released on some of the best independent (and major) labels ever, including Matador, Amphetamine Reptile, Ipecac, Relapse, Southern Lord, and Atlantic.
