Early on, Swervedriver described themselves as “space travel rock’n’roll”, an apt description of a band whose songs are often about the journey. Formed in the late 1980s in the fertile Oxford, England, music scene, Swervedriver burst onto the worldwide stage in 1990 with their first singles on Creation Records. Over the following decade and across four albums, the band cemented a legacy of propulsive guitar-driven alternative rock that garnered an obsessive cult following and legions of imitators. However, by the end of the 90s, Swervedriver would disband and go on an indefinite hiatus.

In the years to follow, their legacy and esteem would only grow. A generation of fans that never saw Swervedriver live clamored for the band’s return. In 2008, twenty years after the end of their initial run, Swervedriver reunited at the Coachella festival and embarked on an extensive tour. More touring followed and new music came in 2013 with the release of the “Deep Wound” single. New albums followed - I Wasn't Born to Lose You (2015) and Future Ruins (2019) – along with reissues, live recordings, and collections, bringing Swervedriver into the current century and cementing their legacy as one of the best English rock bands of their time.
