Chavez

Chavez formed in New York City in 1993 with members Matt Sweeney, Clay Tarver, Scott Marshall, and James Lo. They released two acclaimed albums on Matador Records, Gone Glimmering (1995) and Ride The Fader (1996), which led to a cult following and influenced many bands in the decades that followed. After drifting into hiatus in 1999, Chavez began to play sporadically after the 2006 release of Better Days Will Haunt You, a complete collection of their recorded work to date. In 2017, the band released the Cockfighters EP to continued acclaim and accolades. Chavez never officially broke up or reunited, and they still get drinks together to this day.
