A key band in the first wave of hardcore punk that swept North America in the late 70s and early 80s, NECROS formed in Maumee, Ohio, in late 1979 but were often associated with nearby Detroit, Michigan. The first band on Touch and Go Records, NECROS were close compatriots of Black Flag, Minor Threat, the Misifts, Negative Approach, and many of the other bands that would define underground music throughout the 1980s, themselves becoming one of the most revered cult bands of the early hardcore movement.
