Chisel emerged from the mid-’90s D.C. music underground with a mod-influenced sound, harmonies and heady, literate tunes. Fronted by Ted Leo with John Dugan on drums and bassist/vocalist Chris Norborg, Chisel became known for its dynamic live shows as seen on dozens of DIY tours. 

The power trio developed its own blend of idealistic punk, indie, mod, garage and soul captured on numerous singles and an EP, culminating in two full LPs, 8AM All Day and Set You Free on Gern Blandsten Records. Over the course of the nineties, the band’s streetwise pop and stylized rock anticipated the garage rock takeover of the 2000s. In 2022, Numero Group announced a series of remastered and expanded Chisel releases.
